Zerg Units

The Zerg have only biological units which slowly regenerate their Health Points automatically. Most of them can bury themselves into the ground. They aren't too tough, but absolutely deadly due to their large numbers.

Zergling

The Zerg Zergling is a small and cheap melee unit. It's fast and in masses a serious threat for any ranged unit. However, especially Firebats or Zealots won't have a problem killing them. Can be burrowed to ambush incoming enemy units. Besides that their melee damage can quickly kill the Nexus Shield. Zerglings with the attack speed upgrade are called Cracklings. They do additional 2 dmg and the Kill Score for them is 100 points.

Hydralisk

The Zerg Hydralisk is a ranged unit and effective vs medium and large air and ground units. In masses it's an essential unit for a strong push. Very vulnerable to Psy Storm and Spider Mines.

Overlord

The Zerg Overlord can not attack any unit. It is an air unit with the ability of Detection. That means you can see all cloaked and burrowed units. This ability is lost if it's blinded by a Medic. Furthermore it can transport an amount of between 2 and 8 units depending on their size.

Mutalisk

The Zerg Mutalisk is an air unit and a good choice when you need to targed a single important air or ground unit. Its attack also affects units located nearby. It moves quickly but is not well armored and easily killed by most anti-air units. It needs some good micro skills if you do not want to let them die. And you shouldnt - considering the many points your enemies get for killing them.

Lurker

The Zerg Lurker is completly useless when unburrowed. But don't worry, it will already spawn burrowed and like this it will damage multiple ground units with only one attack. To kill the burrowed Lurker it has to be detected or stormed. Most effective vs small and low armored units. Mostly used for defense. Anyway it can also be used for the offense and is a devestating threat when burrowed at the spawn area.

Ultralisk

The Zerg Ultralisk is undoubted the toughest and best armored ground unit. Although its damage is also one of the highest, it attacks comparatively slow. So well armored it serves more as a tank and gets the attacks of the enemy while other units do the damage. Dragoons can outmicro the Ultralisk. Small units dont stand a chance.

Guardian

The Zerg Guardian is one of the most powerful air units when it comes to damage. However it can only attack ground units and is completely helpless vs any air unit. Be sure to use high ground or support it well since concentrated fire by both air units and large anti-air ground units won't take too long to kill it. The Psy Storm is also a serious threat.
