  2. The winners of the tournament will get a prize now - and it's nothing less than an unused and brand new StarCraft 2 Beta Key!! Since your team consists of two people, you will have to share it in some way. But this should still be some motivation to sign up and give your best.

TMA Tournament Announcement

As huge as the hype about the StarCraft 2 Beta may be, StarCraft: Brood War is still alive and so is the community around TMA. Therefore we are proud to announce the first official TMA tournament hosted by Clan TMA.

The tournament will be played 2on2, so you will need a friend to participate and go for gold. The map will be our newest version, Team Micro Arena Legends 5.5, which can be downloaded here: http://team-micro-arena.net/downloads/TeamMicroArena Legends v5.5.scx

Furthermore a single elimination system will be used. This way you won't have to spend too much time on the tournament, depending on how successful you are and might enjoy our live stream if you're knocked out. TMA-VeNoM[5 will stream and commentate as many games as possible, live on our new TMA streaming channel: http://www.livestream.com/venom5tma - or embedded on our website:
http://team-micro-arena.net/videos.html

Notice that we will use the ICCup Anti Hack Launcher to have the best possible latency and enable players to show us your best micromanagement. If you don't have the ICCup Launcher yet, please follow this link:
http://www.iccup.com/starcraft/sc_start.html

WHEN

The tournament will take place on the last weekend of March and will be played over two days. The players will fight their way to the top on Saturday 27th and play for gold, silver and bronze at the finals on Sunday the 28th. First games start at 3pm EST(east coast, USA) and 9pm CET (central european time), so be on time.

WHERE

All players participating will meet on the ICCup Server in channel OP TMA. If that channel should be full, please join channel OP TMA2.

SIGNUPS

If you would like to participate in the tournament, please ensure that you will be able to play at the corresponding date and time. Signups last until midnight of wednesday the 24th. So get your ally and use our contact form to sign up for the tournament: http://team-micro-arena.net/contact.php or simply send an email to admin@team-micro-arena.net. Simply name you and your team partner for the tournament and confirm that you will be playing - yes, it's that easy to sign up. Also please use a valid email address so we can get in contact with you for any possible changes.

RULES

During a game please use the allied chat, so your opponents cannot see what you are writing to your ally. Allied mines are not allowed. Furthermore if there will be any disconnecting issues we have thought about something: If a player gets disconnected during the first 3 minutes of a game, there will be a rematch if he is able to come back online during the next 5 mintues. Does he disconnect in a game after those 3 minutes though, it is up to the opponent team to decide if they have an auto win or if they would like to go for a rematch.

There are just some few rules you have to keep in mind for playing TMA:

1. Most important is the teamkill rule: Don't kill any allied units on purpose! You are allowed to kill your own units though. Splash damage does indeed get allied units from time to time, but that cannot be avoided. Intended teamkills will result in a disqualification of your team!

2. Another important rule is to kill locked and left units: If you lockdown a unit, you have to kill it as soon as possible - especially if your opponents do not have the change to use the ground suicide. It's the same for units which have been dropped into any of the zones or behind a Nexus. Since your opponents are not allowed to teamkill, you have to kill any left unit to give your opponents the chance to respawn. If you obviously ignore a locked, trapped or left unit for a longer time, your team will get disqualified as well!

3. Please save the replay after each game and immediately send it (together with the result of the match) to admin@team-micro-arena.net. This way we are able to control if the game has been played in a fair way as well as possibly commentate it and upload it on our TMA YouTube channel.

4. Good manners: As in any other sports, we would like to have a good time with fair and exciting TMA games. That also means to behave like a grown up which excludes insults as well as bad manners in general. Thank you!
